The Philips Momentum 24M1N3200 has a simple design that doesn’t look as flashy as its white Evnia counterparts. This model has a matte black aesthetic, and it doesn’t have the Ambiglow LEDs on the chassis due to its budget-oriented nature. The display has a bezel-free design but still has inner borders, just like any modern variant.

It’s larger than the typical gaming display, but its dimensions are modest compared to similar options. It only needs 7.6 inches of depth, so the only problem you might encounter with it is if your desk is narrow and you also have large speakers. It’s light and portable at 12.14 pounds, so it will be easy to move around or bring with you to LAN parties or E-Sports competitions.

Its build quality is decent, so it should last quite a while if you use it with care. The plastics used can flex if you press them hard enough, but they won’t crack that easily. The included stand ha a bit of wobble, but it only really happens when you touch the cabinet or nudge it accidentally.

We think that all monitors should at least have height adjustment, but it’s forgivable this time since the monitor is so cheap. You can use VESA mounts for it, but that added cost might break the value proposition of going with a budget model.

The Philips Momentum 24M1N3200 has a DisplayPort 1.2, two HDMI 2.0 slots, and a 3.5mm jack. That doesn’t look like much, but you can basically use the monitor for a PC and two gaming consoles. USB ports are useful but having them isn’t worth it if the monitor’s price climbs considerably.

It doesn’t have speakers, but that’s understandable since it’s made to be the most affordable monitor. However, that doesn’t matter much since gamers will most likely prefer headsets that are better for focus or immersion.

Creators should look at more specific products if better accuracy is needed.

The Philips Momentum 24M1N3200 backlight reached 255 cd/m2 at 100%, so it can get bright enough for daytime use. Its contrast reached 2311:1 at 50% brightness, so it’s capable of deep blacks and convincing dark scenes. This is its main advantage against IPS panels, but it also has a weakness in return.

Panel uniformity for the test sample did not have major issues like backlight bleeding. The screen has some variance, but it did not affect the screen’s overall performance. Note that this will vary between every monitor made due to tolerances, so there are worse units out there.

The VA panel in this monitor is still prone to blurring in fast-paced and contrasting transitions. Setting its overdrive to the maximum helped, but it added a bit of overshoot. This monitor is suitable for fast-paced games, but those with trained eyes will notice the difference.
